Information Visitors Provide
Search Terms
When a visitor enters a name, location, or similar detail into a search box, that query is sent to the third-party provider that powers the tool. Washington County Inmate Population does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the submitted information may be kept long enough to review and respond. Those messages are not shared outside the organization except when disclosure is legally required.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most websites, this site may receive basic technical details when a page loads.
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- Referring page or website, when available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies may be used to understand site traffic, remember technical settings, and measure how visitors use the pages. A browser can be set to block cookies, although some features or measurements may work differently after they are blocked.
How Information Is Used
- To keep the website available and loading properly.
- To send search requests to the correct partner service.
- To understand which Washington County pages are useful to visitors.
- To diagnose errors, broken links, and other technical issues.
- To display advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Outside Websites
The site links to sheriff pages, jail rosters, Utah Department of Corrections pages, VINELink, court portals, federal locators, GRAMA resources, and private search tools. After a visitor leaves this site, the destination site's own privacy policy and data practices apply.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites for ad measurement or targeting. That tracking occurs under the partner's controls, not as a jail record maintained by this site.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold as a mailing list or lead list. It may be available to limited parties when needed to operate the site or comply with law.
- Search partners that process submitted lookup queries.
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure. Public-record requests to Utah agencies are handled under Utah GRAMA, Title 63G, Chapter 2, by the agency receiving the request.
Security
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information handled by the site. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed breach-proof, so absolute security is not promised.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, contact the site so the material can be reviewed for deletion.
Data Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal information held by the site.
- Request correction of inaccurate information supplied to the site.
- Ask that personal information be deleted when retention is not required.
- Opt out of certain processing where an opt-out is available.
Notice Updates
This privacy notice may be revised as site tools, partners, or legal requirements change. Updates will be posted on this page with the current version replacing the prior text.
